Latest domestic cricket update

Ayush Badoni made 217 for Delhi against Gujarat on Monday, 19 October 2026, completing his third first-class double century. The Delhi captain’s innings helped his side declare at 648/6 in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group C match at Airforce Complex Ground, Palam II, New Delhi. 1 2 3

Badoni was dismissed, rather than remaining unbeaten. The distinction matters because his two previous first-class doubles had both been not out. His latest innings was complete at the time Delhi declared, but the four-day match itself was still in progress. 1 2 5

Badoni’s 217 came from 246 balls

The completed Delhi scorecard records 217 from 246 deliveries, including 22 fours and two sixes. Badoni was caught behind by wicketkeeper UM Patel off Jaymeet Patel, with Delhi’s fifth wicket falling at 543. 2

NewsBytes’ report, published at 4:16 PM IST on 19 October, independently gives the same score and boundary figures. It identifies the innings as his third first-class double century and a new personal best, surpassing his unbeaten 205. 3

Delhi went on to declare at 648/6 after 136.4 overs. That is the team’s first-innings total, not Badoni’s individual score, and it does not by itself establish a match win. 1 2

Why this is his third first-class double

Badoni’s earlier double centuries were 205 not out for Delhi against Jharkhand in 2024 and 204 not out for North Zone against East Zone in the 2025 Duleep Trophy. Wisden’s earlier report identified the North Zone innings as his second first-class double. The 217 against Gujarat now makes three. 3 5

The count therefore covers first-class cricket across competitions. It should not be confused with three double centuries in the Ranji Trophy alone: the North Zone performance belongs to the Duleep Trophy. 5

Delhi’s platform was built on the opening day

Badoni resumed the second day having already made a hundred. The opening-day PTI report carried by Rediff recorded him unbeaten on 115 from 149 balls, alongside Priyansh Arya’s 199. Their fourth-wicket partnership added 234 runs. 4

That gives the double century a clear sequence: an overnight hundred became 217 on the following day. It is not a fresh description of a first-day unbeaten score. Arya’s contribution and Badoni’s continuation were distinct parts of Delhi’s large first-innings total. 2 4

In another match from the same round, our first-day report on Uday Saharan’s Punjab century covers a different rebuilding effort. That dated account is separate from Delhi’s innings and is not a current Punjab score feed.

Gujarat’s reply was still under way

At the official BCCI Day 2 stumps checkpoint, Gujarat were 98/2 after 35 overs, replying to Delhi’s 648/6 declared. The fixture runs from 18 to 21 October, so the individual batting milestone was settled while the match outcome remained open. 1

The immediate news is Badoni’s completed 217 and third first-class double century. Any later result, first-innings advantage or further batting milestone should be reported from a subsequent verified scorecard rather than inferred from Delhi’s declaration.
