Jaipur tournament set for October 26
The 18th annual Azim Gold Cup T20 cricket tournament is scheduled to begin on October 26, 2026, at Ganpati Nagar Railway Cricket Stadium in Jaipur. Abbas Cricket Club is organising the competition, which will feature selected teams from the city. 1 2
The Times of India reported the plans on October 12. This preview brings together the announced venue, daily playing windows and awards ahead of the opening date; the full team list and fixture draw remain awaited. 1
Selected Jaipur teams and a platform for young players
Tournament organiser Abdul Wahid Abbas said the competition aims to give talented young cricketers an opportunity to demonstrate their ability and progress in the sport, according to the TOI report. 1
The reports describe participation by selected Jaipur teams without naming the clubs or their players. There is therefore no verified opening-match pairing or squad list to publish at this stage. 1 2
This is a local club tournament. 1 For broader context on club and state competition levels, the domestic cricket overview explains the different formats and categories; it is not a tournament-entry service.
Morning and afternoon match windows
The announced daily programme provides two playing windows, in Indian Standard Time:
- Morning match: 8:30 AM–12:30 PM.
- Afternoon match: 1:00 PM–5:00 PM. 1
These are the reported match windows, not a complete fixture list or independently confirmed toss schedule. Readers should not assume an opening opponent or toss time from the daily programme alone.
The event is billed as a T20 competition. 1 Readers comparing short-format cricket with national-team matches and franchise leagues can use the T20 format guide for that distinction.
Daily awards and gold cups for the finalists
Players who stand out each day are to receive gift hampers and certificates. At the end of the tournament, the winning and runner-up teams will receive gold cups, according to the reported plans. 1
The announcement also says all 22 players taking part in the final will be honoured. It does not specify the individual award each player will receive, so those honours should not be described as separate gold cups for every finalist. 1
What remains to be announced
The accessible reports do not provide a final date, complete fixtures, named squads or public ticket arrangements. Broadcast details are also not verified. 1 These remain open questions for readers planning to follow individual matches.
For now, the key dates and timings are the October 26 opening and the two daily Jaipur match windows. The team draw will be needed before a match-by-match schedule can be reported.
