The next-day date and correct age-group format matter: generic “India vs Australia Test” search results can point to the senior teams or the completed first Youth Test. This guide isolates the second youth fixture and identifies what is genuinely carried over from Rajkot.

First Youth Test: an innings win, a 240 and two bowling hauls

India U19 take a 1–0 lead into the second game. At Rajkot in the completed first Youth Test, Australia U19 made 217 and 229; India U19’s 494 was enough for an innings-and-48-run victory. Lakshya Raichandani scored 240 and Mohit Ulva 92 in India’s innings. Australia's Blake Cattle made centuries of 102 and 123 across the two innings, so the innings result does not mean every Australian batter failed.

Yashbardhan Chauhan’s 6/75 in Australia's second innings and Ishan Om’s 5/53 and 4/62 across its innings are the completed bowling figures on the first-Test scorecard; an independent match report also documents the 240 and series lead. They explain why a second-match reader may search for those players. They do not prove those bowlers will start again, that the Ahmedabad surface will behave like Rajkot or that the next result is inevitable.

Why does one BCCI source say Ground B while the match centre says Ground A?

There is a real source discrepancy. BCCI's 27 August tour advisory called the 5–8 October match “Ahmedabad – B Ground.” The later current BCCI match centre and the ICC match listing instead specify Narendra Modi Stadium Ground A, Motera. We use the current match-centre designation, not a claim that the older advisory never existed. Ground A/B can matter to a spectator; recheck your actual ticket or a fresh BCCI/venue notice before travelling rather than treating this article as a gate-direction service.

The 27 August notice names a multi-day squad captained by Yashbardhan Chauhan, with Raichandani as vice-captain. It does not contain the official eleven for the second match. The match centre carries a wider pool and cannot settle a toss-time selection question in advance.

What readers should wait to verify on 5 October

Check the BCCI or ICC match centre for the toss, the confirmed elevens and the first-day score after the match starts. “Playing today” requires a team sheet, not a name that appeared in the earlier win. No match-specific pitch report or reliable forecast was established at this 4 October check, so a projected total or rain interruption would be speculation.

The following evening’s India–West Indies first T20I is a different senior men’s format and fixture on 6 October. That page traces Naman Dhir’s updated senior T20I squad place; it does not place him in this Under-19 Test. The Cricket News index separates both articles by competition and date.
