BCCI: Prasidh Krishna ruled out; Anshul Kamboj joins ODI squad

Prasidh Krishna will miss India's third ODI against West Indies on Saturday, 3 October 2026. The BCCI's 1 October media advisory says the bowler sustained a left hamstring injury during the completed second ODI in Guwahati. It names Anshul Kamboj as his replacement in India's ODI squad and says Kamboj will join the group in Chandigarh. The notice does not announce that Kamboj has been selected in the match's playing XI.

CHECKED 2 OCTOBER, 7:28 PM IST — PRE-MATCHSquad change confirmed; playing XIs await the toss.

Prasidh: ruled out of this ODI. Kamboj: added to the ODI squad. Selection in the XI, batting order and toss are not confirmed.

India have already clinched the three-match series 2–0. The ICC's second-ODI report records West Indies 405/7 and India 406/2 in 43.3 overs, an eight-wicket chase. Those are a previous match's completed scores, not a projection for the final ODI. For the current schedule, venue and first-two-match sequence, use the India–West Indies ODI series hub.

Which India players are in the updated ODI squad?

BCCI's updated ODI squad lists Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul (vice-captain/wicketkeeper), Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Gurnoor Brar, Mohammed Siraj, Auqib Nabi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Naman Dhir and Anshul Kamboj. A 15-member squad is not an eleven-player match team; inclusion says nothing on its own about who will bat, bowl or keep wicket on 3 October.

Do not mix up two separate BCCI changes. The same release says Washington Sundar was withdrawn from the upcoming T20I squad to prepare for red-ball cricket and Naman Dhir was named as the T20I replacement. This is not an ODI injury announcement about Sundar. Naman Dhir also appears in the published updated ODI squad, but the BCCI release does not say he replaces Sundar in the third-ODI XI.

West Indies squad list is not a confirmation that Greaves is fit

The ICC third-ODI match card contains a “Squads” section for both sides. It lists West Indies players including captain Shai Hope and Justin Greaves, but a pre-match roster widget is not a fitness bulletin or confirmed starting XI. In its 30 September injury report, ICC said Greaves had a calf injury, missed the second ODI and was in doubt for the third. No subsequently confirmed return is established in the sources checked for this article.

Greaves made 101 from 108 deliveries in the first ODI. The separate Justin Greaves profile and injury update documents the innings and his known absence, without creating a second generic “India vs West Indies players” page. A final match sheet, if published, should supersede provisional roster lists.

04

When is the third ODI and how should the final XI be checked?

The ICC lists the match for Saturday 3 October at 08:30 UTC (2:00 PM IST) at PCA International Cricket Stadium, Ground A, New Chandigarh. The BCCI home-season schedule also lists New Chandigarh. Some coverage calls the location Mullanpur and the ground Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium; neither describes the old IS Bindra ground at Mohali. See the ground-name explanation and match timetable in the series hub.

For a definitive XI, first check the board or match centre's toss-time team sheet. Do not promote a probable XI from a reporter's preview or all names in a squad widget as official starters. No captain's toss decision, live score or 3 October result was known at this source check. This article is a dated injury and selection-status report, not an auto-updating live-score feed.

Third-ODI players: questions, sources and related stories

Why is Prasidh Krishna not in India's third ODI squad?

BCCI says he sustained a left hamstring injury in the second ODI and is ruled out of the third ODI. Anshul Kamboj is his replacement in the ODI squad.

Is Anshul Kamboj confirmed in the playing XI?

No. BCCI added him to the ODI squad; the playing XI requires the official match-day team sheet.

Is Justin Greaves available for the third ODI?

His availability was not confirmed at the 2 October source check. ICC reported a calf injury, his second-ODI absence and doubt over the third ODI; a squad listing is not a fitness clearance.

Was Washington Sundar replaced in the ODI squad?

The BCCI's Washington Sundar–Naman Dhir replacement refers to the subsequent T20I squad. Its separate ODI change is Prasidh Krishna being replaced by Anshul Kamboj.
