When will the 2027 Cricket World Cup schedule be announced?

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 match schedule is due to be announced on Thursday, 1 October 2026, at Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town. The International Cricket Council confirmed the schedule announcement in its 30 September ticket-ballot notice. As of this article’s 30 September source check, the full match-by-match fixture list had not been published on the ICC tournament page. We will not fill that gap with projected India fixtures, opening pairings or stadium assignments.

That distinction matters: an announcement date is not a fixture. Until the ICC publishes the actual schedule, search results headed “full World Cup 2027 schedule” can still be previews based on earlier venue and format releases. Start with the ICC’s 30 September notice, then check its tournament pages after the launch.

What time is the World Cup 2027 schedule reveal in India?

The ICC notice confirms the 1 October Cape Town event but does not state a start time. A syndicated NDTV/IANS report says the broadcast is scheduled to begin at 8:30 PM IST on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network. Treat this as a reported broadcast start, not an official ICC-published time, and check the broadcaster’s listing on the day. A televised programme can start before or after the actual fixture presentation.

Readers should not rely on an unverified South Africa-to-India time conversion. Some secondary coverage gives inconsistent South African and Indian times for the same event. We are therefore showing the attributed India broadcast listing only, rather than presenting a conflicting local-time conversion as fact.

What is already confirmed about the 2027 tournament?

The ICC has named South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia as hosts and announced 12 venues, 14 teams and 57 matches. Eight grounds are in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe and one in Namibia. Cape Town’s Newlands is among the venues, but the Cape Town schedule-reveal event does not, by itself, assign the opening match or final to that ground. A complete allocation requires the published fixtures.

The ICC venue announcement identifies Johannesburg, Tshwane, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Paarl and KuGompo City in South Africa; Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe; and Windhoek in Namibia. Those are confirmed host locations, not a pre-filled India match itinerary. Travel planning depends on the match date, host stadium and ticket terms that will be attached to the released fixture.

There is also a material format change. The ICC format explainer says the three lowest-ranked qualified teams first play a Super Series, with the winner joining 11 others for two groups of six. The groups contain 30 matches. Seven teams then contest a 21-match Super 7; its top four reach the semi-finals before the final. This is not the older Super Six structure sometimes repeated in pre-release previews.

Are India’s World Cup 2027 fixtures or tournament dates confirmed yet?

No individual India opponents, match dates, start times or venues appear in the ICC materials reviewed for this pre-announcement article. Pakistan’s match dates, venues and any India–Pakistan pairing likewise require the official fixtures; none is listed here as confirmed. Cricbuzz reports direct entry for South Africa and Zimbabwe as hosts plus eight teams via ODI rankings, with the remaining four places decided through qualification. Those reported qualification details are not a released fixture list. A host venue in Namibia does not automatically mean Namibia has a team place. Do not turn a qualification projection into a fixture or assume a player’s selection before official team news.

Published previews also disagree over the tournament’s opening date: a late-September Cricbuzz report anticipates 2 October 2027, while earlier provisional calendars cited 4 October. The ICC schedule-and-ballot notice we checked does not resolve the opening-date discrepancy. The responsible answer is to wait for the released fixture rather than displaying either date as an ICC-confirmed opener.

Once the schedule appears, check India’s group or stage assignment first, then each opponent, stadium, local start time, India Standard Time (IST) conversion and any listed reserve day. Match times across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia should be converted from each official local-time listing, not inferred from this article’s launch-event time. How do ticket ballot and later schedule updates work?

The ICC says the ticket ballot opens on 1 October 2026 and accepts valid entries until 21 November 2026. Entering is free and not first-come-first-served. Fans may apply for multiple matches and request up to four tickets per match. When a match is oversubscribed, a random ballot decides who receives a later opportunity to buy; an entry alone does not guarantee a ticket. Successful applicants are contacted by email about a separate purchase window. Use the registration link on the official ICC notice rather than a copied social-media form.
