India’s 2–1 lead changes the Hyderabad equation
India take a 2–1 lead into the fourth T20I against West Indies in Hyderabad on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. India need one more victory to win the five-match series. West Indies need to level it to keep a deciding contest in Bengaluru alive. This is an upcoming-fixture preview checked on 12 October, not a report of a match already underway.
The advantage comes from India’s 14-run win in Indore on 11 October. The hosts posted 223 and restricted West Indies to 209/7, according to the ICC’s completed match report. Our Indore result analysis explains how the batting start and middle-over wickets shaped that result.
Official Hyderabad date, stadium and start time
The BCCI Hyderabad match page lists the fourth T20I at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on 14 October, with a 13:30 UTC start. That is 13:30 UTC and 7:00 PM IST on the same day. BCCI’s home-season fixture release also lists a 7:00 PM local start.
The official schedule establishes the planned start, not the exact moment the first ball will be delivered if arrangements change. Visitors attending the match should use current organizer and ticket instructions for access information; this preview does not supply entry times, ticket availability or an unverified gate plan.
The final T20I is scheduled for Bengaluru on 17 October. A Hyderabad win for India would settle the series before that match. A West Indies victory would make it 2–2 and leave the fifth game to decide the outcome.
What Indore tells us — and what it does not
Abhishek Sharma scored 69 from 30 balls in Indore, while Arshdeep Singh took 3/44 and was named Player of the Match. Naman Dhir’s 2/39 removed Shimron Hetmyer and Kamil Pooran after their counterattacking stand. Those are completed third-match performances, not evidence that the same eleven must play in Hyderabad.
The contrast with the earlier Ranchi chase also shows why a large first-innings score does not settle a T20I by itself. India’s Hyderabad task is to repeat the useful parts of the Indore performance while avoiding the later batting interruptions. West Indies will seek longer partnerships and a stronger platform for their finish. Those are match considerations, not a prediction of the result.
Toss, playing XIs and conditions still need match-day confirmation
No actual Hyderabad toss, innings decision or final playing XI is established by the sources checked for this preview. The listed 7 PM IST start is confirmed schedule information; a precise toss clock is not verified here. The official match centre should be checked for the toss and team sheets on match day.
Weather, pitch behaviour and late player availability also need a new dated check. This article does not invent a rain probability, dew forecast, injury clearance or predicted team list. Indore’s conditions cannot be transferred to a different venue merely because the matches belong to the same series.
